This is our Logistics Flyer #3; the LAST; updating and reminding you of the following key information relative to the conference as either a Presenter or an Attendee:

  1. THE PRE-FINAL CONFERENCE PROGRAM-2021; In-Person and Virtual Program:
    1. Is now available in both PDF and Word (to search your name) at this URL: https://www.aobf.org/conference-program-content-2021/. Please note the "Subject to Change" stated on the Cover Page of the Program.
    2. Please note this Pre-Final draft does not have yet the names and affiliations of Co-Authors and the names of Session Chairs and Discussants. Such info will be added in the Final version of the Program and will be posted by August 30.
    3. The final version of your paper on file will be sent to the assigned Session Chairs and Discussants by tomorrow/Friday, 8.26.2021 as planned. The deadline for submitting final versions of papers has already passed and we will not accept any such requests; including request to change names of Titles and/or Co-authors and their affiliations.
  2. COVID-19 PROTOCOLS AT OUR VENUE/HOTEL for All In-Person Presenters and Attendees posted here: https://www.aobf.org/hotel-logistics-2021/
    1. Please bring your own masks; but we will also have enough supplies of masks at our Registration Desk throughout the duration of our conference. In addition to the posted Protocols, here is a bit of good news: We have access to more space than needed at our venue for even more social distancing while in session.

The following protocols are in place for the hotels catering in conjunction with Los Angeles County’s guidelines and the Center for Disease Control (CDC)
  • Masks are to be work inside the hotel per LA County

  • Buffets are served by our staff to minimize the handling of utensils (not mandated)

CONFERENCE PROGRAM; HOTEL Cut-Off Date for Lower/Discounted Rates on Sleeping Room; PAPER PRESENTATION

Dear Attendee at the 2021 Annual Meeting of ABF&E and AEF:
This is our Logistics Flyer #2 updating and remaining you of the following key information for attending the conference and presenting your work:

THE CONFERENCE PROGRAM.
  1. Please visit this URL: https://www.aobf.org/conference-program-content-2021/ as soon as possible to locate your Full Name and the Title of your Paper/Work which you are planned to present at our upcoming Conference; either In-Person in Los Angeles or via our Virtual platform from wherever you will be at the time of your Presentation (see item III below please).
  2. The Date & Time of your Presentation, along with the full Names and Affiliations of all Co-Authors will be added in the Full Conference Program which we plan to publish on our website within a week from the time of this email. For now, please take a few minutes, check the full Title of your Presentation/Paper and if there are any typos please email us ASAP by replying to this email.
  3. Virtual Presentation Option. IF you plan to present your Paper via our Virtual platform for any reason, especially for health and or other travel-related reasons, please let us know of your decision ASAP but by no later than August 31st by emailing us at staff@aobf.org. Once we have the names of individuals who prefer virtual presentation, we will email you/others the needed log in credentials along with a dedicated URL so you can present your paper, hear and see the comments on your presented work, and sit at any other virtual presentation available.
  4. Non-Registered Individuals and Possible Removal of their Paper from the Program in a Week. If you are among the few non-registered and non-paid individuals, we have no choice but to remove your paper from the Program draft and give your presentation space to those on our Waiting List. FINAL VERSION OF YOUR PAPER AND ASSIGNED DISCUSSANTS FOR EACH PAPER
Full and Final Papers are Due by next Friday, August 20. All such papers will be sent to the assigned Sessions Chairs and Discussants by the following Friday, August 27. So if you had not sent us your full and final paper at the submission time for review, please email us your paper by August 20 at: staff@aobf.org

PRESENTING YOUR PAPERS AND/OR WORKSHOP AND PANEL
Presentation Equipment. All assigned conference rooms are equipped with a PC computer, projector, and screen for your presentation purposes. We do not have Apple computers so if you have software that runs on Apple you need to bring your own equipment and needed wires.
Power Point Presentation. As a backup plan and for your convenience at the time of presentation, we suggest you email us a digital copy of your PowerPoint Presentation in case you face difficulty in accessing your file at the conference. We also will have someone to help you to download your file from your flash drive, in case you face need help.
Presentation Time: Given most sessions are 90-minutes long and have three papers in them, the maximum time for your presentation is 30 minutes. This 30 minutes includes time for in-session Qs&As. The assigned Chairs will keep track of time for each session. So please plan accordingly.
AWARD FOR THE BEST DOCTORAL STUDENT PAPER IN BEHAVIORAL FINANCE & ECONOMICS - a Heads-up. If you are a qualified doctoral student (see qualification in our Call for Papers please) and have already submitted - or will submit by the August 20 deadline - your single-author paper for consideration for the above award, please note that the winner will be announced and recognized at the Thursday lunch at the conference. We highly encourage all Doctoral Students to participate for this unique Award.

The draft Conference Program that we are preparing now would be posted on our website and emailed you too in around two weeks so that you would know in which conference room your presentation will take place.
  2. For presenting your paper to the attendees, let us add that we will furnish all rooms with Windows-based laptops and matching Presentation equipment. This means all you need to bring to the conference is your PowerPoint file(s) along with any support material/file that you have.
  3. IF you use Apple, then you need to bring your own laptop along with any needed equipment and/or wires. In such a case, we suggest you talk to an attendee at our Conference Registration Desk beforehand.
